Myths & Facts for COVID-19 vaccination
After almost a year of COVID-19 virus the vaccines have came to protect humans by developing immunity system to fight against the virus when it will attack. All vaccines provided till now have good efficacy rates and are also very promising to save and prepare whole human community to fight the attack by the virus.
The new vaccines launched, as COVID-19 vaccines are misunderstood amongst many of us with different questions and statements. Before believing on them let's know about the facts hidden from us.
Some of them are discussed below:
Myth – 1
The post-vaccine side effects are severe.
Fact: NO,
any COVID-19 vaccine would not have severe side effects. The COVD-19
vaccination could result in side effects as it is a new or foreign material is
injected in human body.
But they would be mild like nausea, fever, pain in hand or injected area, etc; which would last for just a day or 2.
Some
people with anaphylaxis may get severe effects hence they should consult with
their physician before vaccination.
If suffers from any type of side effects
for more than 2 days or have high fever or severe type of effects, than must
consult with nearby health centre.
Myth – 2
COVID-19 vaccine may alter DNA.
Fact: NO, COVID-19 vaccine will not cause any alterations in DNA. As the vaccines available till now are made up of m-RNA or the dead virus.
The working region
of m-RNA does not include nucleus where the DNA that is the human genome is
present and thus the m-RNA don’t come in contact with the DNA.
And hence can’t alter it. Also the dead
virus does not involve any type of its functioning in the nucleus of cells and
thus the DNA remains isolated in this case too.
Myth – 3
COVID-19 virus already attacked once and now no need for vaccination.
Fact: NO,
the above statement is completely false as till date it is not known that for
how much time the natural immunity attained by the COVD-19 infection would
lasts and how strong is it.
Therefore, it is necessary to get
vaccinated for everyone in order to fight against the virus strongly.
Myth – 4
COVID-19 vaccination can cause infertility in women.
Fact: NO,
vaccination can not cause infertility in women. It is misunderstood due to the
involvement of similar looking type protein present in both the corona virus’s
surface and in placenta.
Actually the vaccine encourages the human
body to create the copies of spike protein present on COVID-19 virus in order
to identify it and act when needed at the time of infection.
This specific spike protein matches
somewhat with the syncitin-1 protein found in placenta, but they highly differ and
thus the misunderstanding created by humans will not be created or done by well
mechanized immune system.
Myth – 5
Could get infected by COVID-19 virus through vaccination.
Fact: NO, it
is not true. The vaccines are made to fight against COVID-19 virus contains the
dead virus and the dead virus cannot cause infection. Thus, one can not get
infected by COVID-19 virus through vaccination.
Myth – 6
Person with great immune system does not need vaccination.
Fact: NO,
everyone needs to be vaccinated even if having a good immune system. This is
because sometimes one with better immune system could act as a carrier for
virus and behave as asymptomatic for infection. And thus, there is a wide
probability of him to infect others.
Therefore, for the safety of oneself and
for others it’s essential to be done.
Myth – 7
COVID-19 vaccination can cause infertility in man.
Fact: NO,
the statement is false. The vaccine before its launch had been examined on all
types of human bodies. This statement is a type of mislead as normal fever or
warm temperature of human body ceases or hinders the sperm production as they
need ideal temperature for function.
And after vaccination, the normal mild
fever is a side effect which could cause such hindrance for short time and
would become normal at normal body temperature.
Myth – 8
Some blood groups don’t suffer severe COVID-19 infection, hence no need for vaccination.
Fact: NO,
it’s not important for all humans of same blood groups to have similar bodily
behavior against the viral infection. And the variations exist in every human
by 0.01 percent which is enough to cause infection severely.
Thus every human need to be vaccinated no
matter of which blood group he belongs to.
Myth – 9
People with co morbidities or ongoing medication for any illness should not get vaccinated.
Fact: NO,
one should not treat or medicate him self or not behave as doctor.
If suffering from any kind of illness like
obesity, thyroid, diabetes, cancer, asthma, arthritis or having any underlying
medication, they should consult with their physician before getting vaccinated
but should not avoid vaccination, as COVID-19 virus is much more dangerous for
patients with co morbidities.
Myth – 10
The COVID-19 vaccine might cause other health problems.
Fact: NO,
the vaccines have been fully examined and gone through all trials, and then
only they got approval for use.
Not any type of case reported as such and
also the vaccine makers are promising at their values that these vaccines will
not cause any type of harm to humans.
It is very necessary for us and the whole
human community to get vaccinated and prepare one self to fight against the
COVID-19 virus and win.

Aware. Be At Home.
